Flyer for Mid-Summer celebration ‘Sangt Hans‘
The House of Denmark, located in Balboa Park_San Diego, California is open to the public on Saturdays and Sundays between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
One of our members will be your host, offer a cup of coffee and a small treat, and answer any questions you may have. Maybe you will get a chance to try something Danish – like an “æbleskiver” with jam and powdered sugar – while you look at photos of the Danish Royal Family, maps, pictures and posters from Denmark, our Danish furniture and lighting, or our collection of Royal Copenhagen china.
Children are invited to play with LEGO building blocks, while adults may choose to take a closer look at information about Danish sights, society, food, or history.
If any members care to sign up to “Host the House of Denmark” there is a link (Hosting the house) above to quickly and easily do that.

“One afternoon, when I was four years old, my father came home, and he found me in the living room in front of a roaring fire, which made him very angry. Because we didn’t have a fireplace.”
Victor Borge
Denmark is a country where thoughtful design, a strong social conscience, and a love of simple pleasures come together. Danish people are widely admired for their warm, down-to-earth hospitality, pragmatic problem-solving, and an easygoing sense of community that values trust, fairness, and mutual respect. Denmark’s rich traditions of architecture, sustainable living, and “hygge” — the art of cozy togetherness — give the nation a reputation for tasteful living, creativity, and wellbeing.
